São Miguel – the jewel in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, with 746 km2 and 120.000 inhabitants the largest of the Azores-islands, overgrows from a plant-carpet at the most outer end of Europe is for each nature-lover a visit in the paradise – fascinates and surprises every day renewed and makes the visit of the island to a permanent experience. Four seasons on one day. Even if the meteorologists report a high over the Azores, sun, fogs and rain can alternate here on the day several times. The weather is evened out Atlantic and in the summer muggy, but just also changeably. Even in the summer, the heaven is not always cloudless blue. Don’t forget the rain-stuff in all seasons! But sunshine comes after rain as you know again.

You must not give up the sea - and sunbath: in ocean-pools from black lava-rock or at quiet beaches from fine volcano-sand. The moody weather keeps away the only-sunbathers and the mass-tourism however and makes the Azores-vacation to a privilege of people, they seek the wild nature.
